Day 3: 8 questions to ask yourself when thinking about an internship or job

It's important to self-reflect

Welcome back! Our last edition focused on what you can learn (about yourself and a company) in an internship/job.

Today’s lesson focuses on things to consider as you figure out what type of role may make sense for you. Let the timer begin…

🍊

1. Do I want the role to be part-time or full-time? How many hours per week do I want it to be?

2. Where do I want the role to be (if safe to be in-person) / do I want it to be fully remote?

3. What industry do I want to work in?

4. What type of organization do I want to work for?

5. What size of organization do I want to work for?

6. What is it I want out of the role? Pay (money)? Immersion into an industry? Mentorship? Learning? Something to put on my resume? All of these?

7. Who is it I want to work with?

8. Do I want to do a role that feels comfortable or one that really pushes me outside of my comfort zone?

In this post, we go into details of how to think about each of these questions!
