🎪 DAY 26: Commonly asked interview questions 🎪
Perfect your "tell me about yourself" answer
Welcome back! It is important to note that interviews are often very specific to the industry/company. As such, it is hard for us to tell you all the potential questions you could be asked in your interview. However, there are some questions that are common, which we'll be sharing today!
Let's gooo!

🎪 2 questions that are worth preparing for 🎪
🎟️ 1) "Tell me about yourself"
Your answer should be short and concise— no more than 1 minute
Your answer should assume the person asking you knows nothing about you, including your school, course of study, etc.
Your answer should, in some part, go beyond repeating things from your resume. You should talk about your passions, which is an ideal way to briefly mention why you’re excited about the company/role
Here is a sample answer:
“My name is [ADD DETAIL] and I’m originally from [ADD DETAIL]. For awhile, I’ve been passionate about [ADD DETAIL]. This helped lead me to [ADD SCHOOL DETAIL], where I am currently studying. I’m majoring in [ADD DETAIL] and really enjoying learning about this topic. Outside of the classroom, I’m involved with [ADD DETAIL, especially if relevant to the role you’re applying to— ie: “I’m involved with the finance club” if you’re applying to a finance internship]. These interests are why I’m so excited about this internship/job at [ADD COMPANY NAME]. I’ve done my research on the company (and/or role) and its mission really aligns with these interests of mine. [ADD ADDITIONAL DETAIL AS YOU SEE FIT].”
🎟️ 2) "What is your major?"
The most important thing is to not just say your major
Simply saying something like “Economics” is a wasted opportunity to make an argument for your candidacy
While you want to answer the question, you can do so and then say why it relates to your interest in the role (if applicable)

This post dives deep into these two questions. Join us tomorrow as we breakdown several more interview questions. We hope you're enjoying the weekend!
