⭐ DAY 17: Finding a role using the traditional method ⭐
Applying to a role? We got you...
We're back! Today, we're going to start talking about applying to internships. There are 2 main methods used for applying to internships. We are going to start with the first one today: the traditional method.
Bingo. Bango. 30 seconds. Let's go!

The traditional method: apply to existing roles at companies. By existing, we mean that these roles have already been created by the company and you can find them on the company’s website or on a job board like LinkedIn, Handshake, etc.
There are two things to remember when applying through the traditional method...
★
1. When applying to roles, do your best to find the name/contact info of the person who posted the role and try to send them an email (if you have it) or a LinkedIn connection request WITH A personalized message that tells them you applied to the role and how passionate you are about it.
If you cannot find the name of the person who posted the role, then you can research the company on LinkedIn and reach out to any employee who works there and seems most relevant to the role you applied to.
In our upcoming posts, we will be going step-by-step through how to reach out to someone over LinkedIn :)
★★
2. Remember that when applying to roles via this traditional method, it does require a significant volume of applications. In other words, you’re going to have to apply to lots of roles (dozens) with the goal of getting a couple interviews. Your end goal is that one of these interviews turns into an internship/job offer.
