π DAY 10: Finalizing your cover letter π
Take a moment to pat yourself on the back
It's Tuesday...one day closer to the weekend! In yesterday's post, we spoke about putting your cover letter together. Today we are finalizing it!
You know the drill...

π You should proofread your cover letter multiple times and ideally have at least one other person also give it a look π
Spelling and grammar errors in a cover letter are a no-no
Tips to catch errors:
Read your cover letter aloud (this is really helpful, as odd as it may sound!)
Print out a copy of your cover letter and make changes with a pen/pencil while you read through it
Ask a trusted colleague, friend, or family member to read it and share their feedback with you
π Take the pressure off: thereβs no such thing as a perfect cover letter π
If you're wondering when you've spent long enough on your cover letter, ask yourself:
βAm I happy with how this reads and have I put a solid effort into it?β
If you can answer yes to those two questions, then itβs probably time to send it off
The reality is that writing (including a cover letter) is subjective. This means that even if you proofread your cover letter meticulously and have others also proofread it, there is always something you can change
Say goodbye to your inner perfectionist and save it as a pdf once you're happy with it!

This post goes into more detail on the above two points. We recommend you read it if you have any additional questions!
Get ready for a new topic tomorrow! Don't forget about referring 5 friends (below) to get a Starbucks gift card!
We will catch you tomorrow ;)
